The idea for this piece first came from remembering those hard wearing, practical things, my grandfather would wear on morning walks. I wanted something warm and soft to the touch, but that could be an object of beauty after years of wear. The fabric we eventually settled upon was a brushed melton wool, which gives the cap that luxury finish while still being hard wearing. A fabric with rich British heritage, originating from Leicestershire.
