Today we celebrate the Day of the World's Indigenous People to raise awareness and protect the rights of the world's indigenous population. I am proud to be Chuvash and bring Chuvash culture into my jewelry design - the Tanlah collection, is inspired by traditional Chuvash dress and patterns shown above. Chuvash are one of the many groups of indigenous people of North Asia colonized in 16th century by people of the Asian peninsula, we call Europe. Our nature is rich in resources - for example one of the best worlds diamonds are mined in North Asia and owned by some Russian oligarch while indigenous population have no access to it's resources and live in absolute poverty. I hope all the indigenous people around the world can get justice for what has been done to them, their culture respected and land returned.
