This high level conversation spoke with me this morning. To know me is to know that I purchase a plant for every significant event in my life. If you remember in June, I was away from home for twenty days and was not in a healthy space mentally. I was putting others' needs before mine and suppressing my emotions for the sack of outward peace. I was not nurturing myself or my plants. I was not in my safe place, therefore, my plants suffered. Once I returned home, I poured into my plants trying to return them to a healthy space. I immediately left again and dropped my plants off at my sister in law's house. My plants were at my sister in law's house for two hours when she called me and stated that my niece cut all the leaves off of two of my plants. I wasn't even upset. I literally knew this was a sign that I needed to release that trauma affecting me mentally in order to truly heal and grow. One of those plants that my niece cut was a plant that my aunt gave me. Unknowing that one of the plants that were cut was the plant she gave me, she said "they will grow again". My sister in law, who is always there for me, nurtured my plants back to health. So, when I came home emotionally full, my plants reflected that fullness. A month later those two plants that were cut are now flourishing more than before. Nobody will be able to tell me that my plants are not the way my ancestors and the universe speaks to me...
