Raiatea + Taputapuatea Spent the day on Raiatea & got to witness the crew of Hokulea & Hikianalia come to shore for a ceremony at one of the most sacred marae’s in the Pacific, Taputapuatea. Taputapuatea is known as the piko of the Polynesian Triangle where ancient navigators gathered to share their knowledge of ocean navigation & networks of lineage & genealogy. Met a wonderful woman @tahia_tefaatau whose family paddled the canoes to pick up the crew but also was the biggest fan of @pfunklove! She gave us ice cold coconuts & a ride back to the cruise ship so we didn’t have to wait & continue to sweat our okole’s off 😊
