Our marriage has survived addiction, codependency, depression, death of a sibling, job loss and a whole lot of average bumps in the road too! But what we’ve built over 11 years is mutual respect, deep appreciation, devotion to each other and to God, and a family unit that we choose to prioritize over and over again. We apologize a lot, and accept apologies. We take breaks from fights that aren’t going anywhere. We give each other grace. We set expectations of knowing we are both human and will fail, and fail a lot. And we look for the good in each other. We wait patiently through the seasonal life storms that come, and we hold on to the promises and covenants we made in the beginning that we know will take us all the way to the end. Happy 11th anniversary to the man I choose over and over, and I’m so grateful you choose me too 🥰.
