Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933) employed many designers across his companies, but only a handful were selected to work in what was enviously described by other departments as "little Arcadia."
At this idyllic workshop located in Corona, Queens, the artists worked freely without the pressures of Tiffany's other more commercially driven shops. The vibrant and spontaneous studies, such as this watercolor Dandelion design c. 1900, reflect the talent and artistry fostered in the small workshop that focused solely on creating beauty.
