I took this photo of a “linebacker” of a bear a few years ago in late October just after he raided my kitchen. I left a window open on a warm October day (9’ above the ground) and this big guy found a way to climb up, push the window wide open and climb in. After a split second encounter, he (lucky for me) jumped out of the window. I found him minutes later rolling around in the fall leaves in the front yard. We made eye contact and he offered me a moment to take a portrait before moving on. I knew right then I would never have it in me to report this bear and the incident to the local authorities. Fall is around the corner and it’s likely there will be an increase of bear sightings in and around town.
