Tomorrow, Sara Mardini @sara_mardini963, Seán Binder @sean.binder and Nassos Karakitsos @nassos_karakitsos will be put on trial for helping refugees and asylum seekers in distress at sea get to safety. The charges brought against them include human smuggling, espionage and belonging to a criminal organisation. They have spent 108 days in pre-trial detention and now face 25 years imprisonment. @HumanRightsWatch has said that their prosecution is effectively criminalising life-saving humanitarian solidarity. Humanitarianism is not a crime. We must stand together and call on the Greek authorities to drop these charges.
