I have an ask for you [Read till the end]. ⠀ ⠀ These days, it’s been hard for me to show up on here. ⠀ ⠀ Not because I don’t want to. ⠀ Quite frankly, the opposite. ⠀ ⠀ But in a new way. ⠀ And in a new arena. ⠀ ⠀ The world of travel content creation is one that I’ve wanted to be a part of since I was a teenager. How do we travel and experience the world in ways that are authentic? How do we ethically engage in cultural exchange? How do we document the places that we have the privilege of witnessing? ⠀ ⠀ It was a journey @shotbythar and I were about to enter at the start of 2020... and well. ⠀ ⠀ We know how that turned out... ⠀ ⠀ Which means that since then, it’s felt even scarier to just decide to jump into that world. ⠀ ⠀ Maybe travel content isn’t why you followed me. Maybe it was for the puns. Maybe it was because I’m exploring my culture and identity alongside all of you. Maybe it’s for the inclusive content practices. ⠀ ⠀ In the last few days of just being, I realized I want people to be in my corner, for me. Not JUST for the education: but also for the quirky, book-loving, culture-searching, 5’2” brown girl. ⠀ ⠀ For the Nikon lover and the drone pilot. ⠀ For the tech nerd and the creator. ⠀ For the adventurer and the lover of food. ⠀ ⠀ So this page may change a little. ⠀ ⠀ Starting tomorrow, I’m going to be sharing some of the highlights of our travels. The favourite places. The ‘worth it’s’ and ‘that was a tourist pit,’ experiences. I’m going to share more of these facets. ⠀ ⠀ More of me. ⠀ ⠀ And truthfully? ⠀ It’s scary. ⠀ ⠀ Scarier because if I want to be in this space, numbers actually do matter. The metrics of followers, comments, and genuine community engagement is what decides my success in this arena. ⠀ ⠀ An arena that feels familiar, and new all at the same time. ⠀ ⠀ My ask?⠀ ⠀ That you’ll stay for this next journey of mine, wherever it goes — for all the parts of me. ⠀ ⠀ So what do you say?
