🌟Bonus #SeaTurtle release!🌟 Just when we thought our sea turtle release season was over, we had one more Kemp's ridley sea turtle ready to go home to the ocean! It was originally thought that "Lavender" (the Kemp's ridley!) would need to continue rehabilitation at another facility, but the turtle's injuries healed better than expected and Lavender was ready for release yesterday! Now, our Sea Turtle Hospital is gearing up to take in new patients for the upcoming cold-stunning season. In July, Dr. Charlie Innis, the Aquarium's Director of Animal Health, went to Washington DC to testify in favor of the "Sea Turtle Rescue Assistance Act." This legislation would establish a grant program to pay for the recovery & care of sea turtles like Lavender.
