You made me a mother first.. Gigi loved Mateo when they met, she was curious and gentle and a little surprised. What we both were expecting but didn’t realise how much it would affect us - was being away from Gigi whilst we were in hospital. It was the first time Kirt has been away from her and after two days we were both torn. Loving being in our bubble with just the three of us in hospital, but Gigi was missing so it didn’t feel right. Whenever Gigi sees kirt she leans back into her arms. She does this at bed time, in the bath and when playing. Like a leap of faith, circle of trust -just being held in the arms of her mum is where she always wants to land. It was overwhelming seeing Gigi lean back into Kirt at the hospital, her way of missing her.. when I went to pick my mum, Nat and Gigi up from home I couldn’t help but cry when I saw her.
