Protecting our oceans has always been important to me being a native Californian. I was excited to partner with @shiseido who is doing their part to help protect, educate and improve our oceans and beaches. Shiseido Blue Project hosted an oyster restoration with @wslpure and @occoastkeeper to help create new homes for Olympia oysters. One oysters can filter up to 50 gallons of water a day. Oyster ecosystems make our ocean safer and cleaner and they strengthen the oceans biodiversity by providing habitat and refuge for other marine species! They also help stop beach erosion, wave energy, sea level rise adaptation and improve water quality. We helped by stringing donated oyster shells that will be put back in the ocean for other oysters to grow on. It takes about one year for an oyster to grow fully on one shell and each set of strings had 15 shells. Thank you @shiseido for having me be part of this incredible project.
