Patience... it'll be worth it. Patience and delaying gratification are two skills I have really worked on developing and strengthening. And I think a lot of people my age and younger still really struggle with this. Because with most of the world pushing for faster. Quicker deliveries... Instant gratification... And speed is king. It can diminish the skills of patience and delaying gratification if we're not careful. Plus it can be easy to lose sight that not everything is fast... hell I’m finding that most things are not. And if we forget that ... I think it can add a lot of un-beneficial stress and pressure on ourselves. Because things like building a career... Strengthening relationships... Creating the life of your dreams. Just to name a few .... all take time. We have to invest in those things. We have to work at those things. We have to overcome the mental battles of "is it worth it" or "I just want to be there already." We have to say no to things that sound great now, but won't get us closer to our goals. We have to strengthen our patience and be able to delay gratification. And for me, this year has had countless examples that it’s worth it. All the "missed parties" ... The untraveled trips... The hours invested in reading, 10 pages a day. The ended relationships and friendships. Building new friendships. The countless "extra" time at work. The “lost” sleep. The pursuit of my potential. It's all been worth it. Not easy, especially earlier on when I struggled with patience and delaying gratification. But it's got easier as I have strengthened those skills. And if you're someone who struggles with those, I encourage you to actively work on then. Work through the discomfort and mental games you'll play with yourself. Because you can strengthen those skills too as you work to build the life of your dreams. And a long the way ... i think you’ll have more and more experiences and opportunities that’ll show you it’s worth it too
