Just spoke to the Denison University Public Policy class with Liz Sears Smith about public service and national security. In tough times like these, it’s easy to feel discouraged—but now is not the time to give up. The future is bright with these incredible students, whose passion and commitment give me hope. Under the leadership of Professor Dr. Scott Smitson, they are preparing to tackle the challenges ahead with intelligence, integrity, and resolve. Public-private partnerships were of particular interest to these students and of great concern that they are in jeopardy of breaking down. National security is not something we can afford to gamble with, especially at such a delicate moment. We must invest in and empower the next generation of the best and the brightest—driving them forward, not away. Charge into the fight.
