Texas police are assisting zoo officials with the search of a clouded leopard that is reportedly missing from its exhibit at the Dallas Zoo. “One of our clouded leopards was not in its habitat when the team arrived this morning,” the zoo said in a tweet posted Friday morning. Although the clouded leopard is not accounted for at the moment, the zoo believes the animal is most likely “hiding” on property. The zoo has been closed temporarily as the Dallas Police Department is on site to help zoo officials search for the big cat. From southeast Asia, these felines have been categorized as “vulnerable” by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature due to habitat loss and poaching. The Wildlife Fund said there is an estimated amount of 10,000 clouded leopards left in the wild. #Texas
