I usually don’t talk about these things until the very limit. First I try to adapt to changes, but when you have to adapt every two months then it starts to get a bit annoying. Yes, I am talking about Instagram, and more specifically about the community of photographers that made this platform shine from the ground up, inspiring people to travel, pursue their passions and hobbies and provide brands with a way to showcase their products in a visually appealing way. In the past few months the photos have almost no reach(with a few exceptions that go mad viral), so why have all the work to post a beautiful photo on this platform? So why post a photo here if we can do it on Twitter, and why post a reel here if we can do it on TikTok? The reason why is because this is a photo-sharing app Mr @Mosseri, if it’s not a photo-sharing app then it is just a copy-sharing app. I wanna quote Mr @Mosseri on the last video he posted: “I do believe more and more of Instagram will become video over time, we see this even if we change nothing” Well for this we don’t have data because Instagram changes things faster than light travels. @Mosseri also said people consume and like and share more reels. And the reason why is the dopamine, reels can give you thousands of new followers. If the algorithm would make photos more viral than videos then people would share more photos than videos. Unfortunately, this is not black and white, it is what the algorithm is programmed for. So @Mosseri if you still care about photos on Instagram as it is in Its heritage as you said, please change a few lines in the code and give people an option of what they want to see in the feed. Photo or reels or even make it a percentage that would make everybody happy. You did this with the Following/chronological feed. You can also give an option of what people really want to see. The photographers on this platform made a huge effort to adapt to all the changes and now I think it's time for Instagram to Adapt to all the photographers that made this platform grow.
