Today is so special. It’s my 35th birthday, and - by some twist of fate, today is the day that I won the 2024 Women of Excellence Award at the Women’s Leadership Conference, presented by @bradywarecompany in partnership with @betterbusinessbureau_ @nawbonational @nawbocbus @wsba_oh I spoke to the other 300+ women in that room and told them that I vividly remember rocking my 10-month-old daughter, Margot, with tears streaming down my face on the eve of my diagnosis. In that moment, I realized I didn’t want to leave this world without creating a legacy. It was only when faced with a life-or-death situation that I truly understood what that word—legacy—meant. I came to see that my legacy wouldn’t be for me, but for Margot, for your daughters, and for every woman who might confront a similar challenge. In those darkest moments, I felt lost and alone, but I resolved that no one else should ever feel that way. Thank you for acknowledging my journey and the mission it inspired. This honor is a testament to the strength we discover within ourselves and the profound impact we can make on others when we boldly pursue our ideas.
