Entering the sixth year of the celebrated @HBOMax APA Visionaries short-film competition, we partnered with @HBOMax to unveil the program’s new look-and-feel through two experiential activations in Los Angeles and New York City. Following the premiere of the winning films in LA, the post-screening reception took place at the rooftop of @neuehouse Hollywood with an Asian night market-inspired design featuring restaurant vendors, cocktails, and games that included prizes from AAPI-owned brands @friendofafriend.studio @kolkatachaico @mountlai @pojstudio @sachgoods @threegemstea @yuandmebooks Food was curated in partnership with @chefsstoppingaapihate and provided by @electrickarmahollywood @theparksfinest @rivieraseafoodclub @shikulosangeles @itsamrit set the music tone throughout the night with a performance by @audreymikaa to close out the evening. Drumming up the excitement from LA, we brought the #HBOMaxVisionaries screening and reception to NYC at @chelseafactory.nyc. Once the screening wrapped, the airwall lifted to reveal the Asian night market-inspired reception experience, featuring games, specialty cocktails and food (provided by @bessounyc @desigalli @eat_gai @saigonsocialnyc), with sounds provided by @kazi. In partnership with @heartofdinner, we created an interactive experience to help further the org’s mission. Guests were encouraged to write handwritten notes of love to elders in the AAPI community, which will be used to accompany the delivery of their food/care packages. As the night came to a close, guests were treated to a performance by @bohanphoenix and headliner @joycewrice ended the night with an energetic performance. Congrats to the winning AAPI filmmakers for this year’s competition, @lloydleechoi (“Same Old”), @ladeyga (“The Gift”), @chheangkea (“Skin Can Breathe”). Thank you everyone who came through and we will see you next year! 📸 @dorothypunk @vinnypicone
