I wrote the 1st draft of my science fiction novella REMOTE CONTROL on a manual typewriter from the 1920s. I just found some of my notes! 😃 This was when I came up with the concept for “prayer shacks”. I love the idea of these. Tech inspired by the wants and needs of these specific parts of the world. I guess I used my typewriter to write notes, too. Why did I use a typewriter? I just wanted to write with a piece of tech that did not connect to the Internet or require electricity. This thing has the most satisfying sound ever and my long-fingered big hands love it. It’s cool that I wrote about an African future using a device from nearly (I did this in 2012) hundred years ago.
