I loved Anne Heche SO much. I LOVED HER. As an actor she was fearless and inspiring and was invaluable to me in her wisdom & hilarious, rambunctious bravery. As a person she was gentle, direct, patient, loving & bold. She and I only shared the screen for a few precious scenes but every day on set with her was a lesson in humility, unpretentiousness & in how to make others feel safe, and non constricted. She was just a badass: she taught me how to not give a shit in the best way while also how to care for the people around you by bringing HONESTY and sincerity with you wherever you go. That was Anne. Totally honest, totally sincere, totally fun... all around a class act. It’s easy to dismiss 4 loud annoying ass teenagers as being “brats” or “difficult” but instead she encouraged us to push things further & reach for the thrill of life even higher. She EMBRACED my hyperactive rough edges in an unforgettable, empathetic way. God was she a blast. What warmth I’ve felt when I thought about her over the years. I wish I’d reached out and just got to hear that fun, raspy rockstar voice one more time. She was complicated and she was special and was relentlessly herself. I love you Anne and I always will.
