It’s always interesting to me how healing isn’t ever linear. You might think you’ve healed and something you watch on tv re-triggers you.
Or you step outside your apartment and your abuser is sitting right outside watching you from across the street.
Both are triggering, both have happened in the last two months.
(The latter is still an active legal matter)
Healing hasn’t been easy but it’s helped me become who I am today.
I have dedicated my whole social media presence since 2015 to use my voice to help inspire others.
I want to always remove the veil of social media and speak up about my experience and help hold space for others that have gone through or are going through through similar.
If you’ve been following me since 2015, you know I’ve always said I want everyone to know how worthy they are.
I truly hope you know this today and tomorrow and the next and so on, just how worthy you are.
I won’t ever stop speaking up for myself and every other person who’s on their forever healing journey from Trauma.
You are not the stories other people have written for you, you get to decide who you are. You get to be the painter of your art and the writer of your book.
Whatever happened to you wasn’t warranted and you didn’t deserve it. I am here to remind you of this.
It gets better, it always gets better. That I promise you from my own healing journey.
I’ve learned since I left that traumatic relationship that the more you open up about it, the easier it becomes to heal.
My therapist gave me homework this morning to normalize my experience for myself and I hope by my transparency that I am also normalizing it for you. And not in a socially acceptable way— in a way to remind us that we weren’t the only ones. That we aren’t alone.
Narcissistic abuse, emotional manipulation etc is more common than you think- it can also be subtly hidden in many ways. Abuse knows no income bracket, no race, no location.
It can happen to anyone. And when you’re in it, it can be so hard to get out. But you can get out.
You are not alone. We are in this together. We are survivors.
We got this☀️
