This anniversary sucks. You feel silly rehashing the pain once a year as if the other 364 days are any easier and you feel guilty if you don’t acknowledge the day, it’s significance and celebrate ‘in honor of’. It’s been two years since we said goodbye to my father and it doesn’t get easier - you become stronger, numb at times, distant, connected, scared and you learn to let go. If there is anything grief has taught me it’s that I have a lot of amazing people in my circle. I feel very lucky and just want to thank my support group, near and far.
