🚨July 13th @londonedition @ 6:30pm🚨 Are you feeling similarly incensed by the recent overturning of Roe v Wade? Join me in turning that anger into action at the next S3x Talks event at @londonedition which will explore the subject of bodily autonomy, while raising money for a UK-based abortion-care provider. PART ONE: LETTERS LIVE In a 'Letters Live' style evening, we’ll first be joined by a range of dreamy speakers who will read aloud a letter they've penned to their body. ✨Each letter will reflect on the writer's personal relationship to their body (its shape, s3xuality, gender, health...) and what bodily autonomy means to them. ✨Never has it felt more important to consider what having control over your body means and why it is so goddam important. (It is worth remembering that while abortion is legal here in the U.K., it wasn't decriminalised in Northern Ireland until 2019. Everything happening in America right now is a clear reminder of how precious are our hard-won rights when it comes to abortion access, same-sex marriage, contraception and more, and how easily they could one day be taken away. PART TWO: TURNING ANGER TO ACTION In the latter half of the evening, we'll learn how to turn our anger to action. For this panel discussion, I'll be joined by campaigners working across a range of issues, who will shed light on what they've found to be the most effective way(s) of engendering change, and what true allyship really entails. **All money from the ticket sales for this event will go to an abortion-care provider based in the UK.** Ticket link in bio (Graphic by the brilliant @elspeth.hoskin)
