How can I boil down everything you mean to me in one birthday post @rebeccadawaharegray ?!!! 16 years of friendship and it’s richer than it’s ever been. This year has been hard for both of us. And yet I only feel closer to you. And so what do I say that will fit here?? I’ll try by using our birthday word tradition. You are many things, but this year I noticed a new boldness in you. Bold in conversation, bold with questions, bold in vulnerability (which makes me more vulnerable too - a superpower in my opinion) bold in motherhood, bold in creativity. This year I have seen a really beautiful unapologetic fragrance come over you. You have not backed down from being yourself. Even when the world has demanded other things of you. Settled into who you are, you inspire others to do the same. It’s not easy to be like that in this world. It’s not easy to be a woman that knows who she is in this world.
