Pumpkin pie day, but for your dog! Coby loved this treat so much - I might have to make it again for Thanksgiving! This recipe is easy to make and even more delicious thanks to Old Mother Hubbard by @wellnesspetfood Pick of the Patch biscuits. These grain free treats are made with nutritious ingredients including potatoes, peas, chickpeas, pumpkin, and carrots. The perfect decoration for a pumpkin pie! Here's how to make it: • Make the crust by mixing together 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup canned pumpkin, and 1 egg. When crumbly, transfer to a clean surface and work into a dough. Add a teaspoon of water if too dry, or a bit more flour if too wet. Roll it out into a 1/4th inch thick piece. Press about half the rolled out dough into a 6 inch springform pan. Poke a few holes into the dough then par-bake for 15 minutes at 350°F. • In a food processor, blend the remaining canned pumpkin, 1 banana, and 1 egg until smooth. Pour the filling into the par-baked crust and use a spatula to smooth it out. • Bake for 45 minutes until starting to brown and you see a few cracks on the surface. • Press Pick of the Patch biscuits into the pie on the perimeter for decoration. • Let cool to room temperature then carefully remove the pie. • Cut into small slices and serve to your dog as a nice treat!
