@powerlifting.united Nationals TLDR: We don’t missTM️ 9/9 day: S: 302.5kg(666lbs) 10kg PR B: 217.5kg(479lbs) -7.5kg D: 355kg(783lbs) 7.5kg PR T: 875kg(1929lbs) 10kg PR This year has been a lot since Power Surge man, opening @circlecitystrength in February, running 10 meets since my last meet all while working a full time day job & planning a wedding with Erin. It’s been tough, my training was often 4th or 5th priority(with diet being like 12th). On top of the challenging schedule I have been dealing with a shoulder injury since last November that ruined my ability to low bar squat or bench for months. I finally got everything fixed & then less than 2 weeks out tweaked my other shoulder/pec on my last heavy bench day. I didn’t know if I was gonna be able to bench at all & knew a bench PR was out of the picture. Somehow the meet came together perfectly. Squats: 300kg was the top end of the range but I felt great, 290 flew & I told Payton “load whatever you want” all of a sudden a number not even on the game plan was loaded. Yesterday was the first day where I truly thought I could one day squat 700lbs, which is wild. Bench came together: with the help of @smalltimecrooks saving me with bodywork & rocksauce(that shit HURTS) my shoulder didn’t bother me as much as I was expecting. Honestly 217.5 flew & I probably had 5kg more on the day but the safe call was the smart call with the pre existing injury. Deadlifts were fun: I still hate that damn bar but I figured it out enough, everything was flying & we ended with a 355kg pull, 800lbs has gotta die. Appreciation post will come later because I have a lot of people to thank. This meet was a blast, fast paced, high standards & incredibly talented lifters all over the session. The fact that 1,929lbs got me 12th place in my weight class is just honestly cool. Extremely happy to be the only person in the 25 lifter session to finish this meet 9/9. I may not be the strongest but I promise two things: no one will have more fun than me & I will execute.
