A surreal honor to announce that I’ll be collaborating w/ visionary filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul on a forthcoming project 👁 Our work will premiere at the @fotofocuscincinatti Biennial this October alongside collaborations between @aroojaftab + @dwohl_ w/ @josephinejambox and @devhynes w/ @matidiop + @manon_lutanie, feat. @cincysymphony conducted by Matthias Pintscher. Described by the great @hilton.als in @newyorkermag as “contemporary cinema’s preëminent poet of place and of dislocation,” Weerasethakul “really can convince you that the living and the dead, the past and the present, the terrestrial and the other, do exist side by side” (@guardian). Witnessing his film Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives was among the most inspiring encounters I’ve had with art in recent memory, and I’m so excited for his latest, Memoria. Special thanks to creative producer @knordstrum / @liquidmusicseries for inviting us to be a part of this project, and to @samorapinderhughes for first introducing me to Weerasethakul’s work. Honestly, pinching myself as I write this... it’s like something out of a dream.
