On the 16th of November we organized 3 vertical dinners dedicated to @fattorialepupille__official and, more specifically, to Poggio Valente wine. We held 3 dinners at the same time in different locations: New York City, Tampa (FL), and Woburn (MA). In each location we had a very special guest: Elisabetta Geppetti -owner of the winery, in NYC, Ettore Rizzi -Elisabetta’s son and winemaker, in Tampa, and Andrea Lupi -also winemaker, in Massachusetts. The goal of the dinner was to create a 10-vintage vertical tasting of Poggio Valente wine, from 2010 to 2020, and pair each vintage with food. Moreover, the guests had the opportunity to taste a secret vintage, 2006, blind tasting, and guess the vintage through an interactive survey available through a QRCode. This wine sinks its roots in 1996 when Elisabetta decided to purchase a vineyard called “Poggio Valente” nearby Pereta. It’s the first Morellino that the winery started to produce. The project is once again based on Sangiovese, and it is the absolute protagonist of this vertical tasting to explore all the expressions of this brilliant wine.
