One year ago I launched @thrivingbeyondbreastcancer alongside a dedicated group of people who believed in our community’s cries for help. We started with no partnerships, no history—just a vision to tackle a problem so widespread it’s now making headlines in mainstream media like the @nytimes, @wsj, and shows like @goodmorningamerica. But what sets TBBC apart is our values and the commitment to act on them, because time is of the essence. The reality is terrifying: cases of young women in their 20s and 30s being diagnosed with breast cancer are rising exponentially. This disease is hitting women at younger ages and at later stages, making it harder to treat. This grassroots organization has raised over six figures, and we’re not slowing down! Our mission is clear, and we’re working tirelessly to provide crucial support to this vulnerable population while research continues for a cure. Our services are essential for young women navigating this in a societal system that simply isn’t designed to support chronically ill young people. From inadequate childcare and disability benefits to job security, co-survivor support, mental health services, and fertility treatments—the gaps are overwhelming. As of this month, we will have provided our 35th $1,000 stipend and are on our 6 month holding support groups. We know we can do more, but we need your help to get there.
