In June, we partnered with @meta to host the first-ever #BlackCreatorDay, a one day activation in LA celebrating Black creators who are driving culture daily on platforms. It was a day built for community and championing Black creators through networking, education, inspiration and affirmation. Themed “Future Ready”, creators were immersed in a futuristic experience with interactive installations, fireside chats and panels, and performances. Hosted by @joyofodu, there was a full day of sessions and workshops from @marie_mag, @donyetaylor, @darling.nola, @lalamilan, @ollysho, @jabaribanks, @imaniimani, @yesladyphoenix, @donalleniii and @whigganese. @djmillie set the vibes all day, and the event wrapped with a @wetheculture happy hour + a special performance from @BIA. Creators stepped into the future with VR and AR installations from the creative minds of @andreoshea__, @gabegault, @lucii_ferr, @sununguro, @xojourdanlouise, @ceej.vega, @late_fx, @miss_gijck, @donalleniii & @ohfallet. Lunch, lite bites and refreshments were provided by @1987juices, @nofreecoffee, @zacssweetshop, @eatoccassion, @allflavornogrease and @vurgerguyz. Attendees were able to “Shop” IRL at @post21shop from a curated list of products from Black-owned wellness brands. The day was truly a moment to celebrate and highlight Black creators! 📸: @natacam_
