I rather *love* how they changed the title for the French edition of Remote Control. Sankofa: The Adopted Daughter of Death. Interestingly enough, I’d originally named the novella Sankofa...but the fact that real life slang for witchcraft in that part of the world is “remote control” suited the book more, especially since it’s a science fiction novella. 😊 I’m still glad to see my original title out there in the world. [Yes, they usually ask before changing the title of a translation. And I have a say in the cover, when it’s a new cover...saw the Arabic edition of Binti yesterday and it’s GORGEOUS, but I had one note.
