I’ve known @mikeylikesrocks for maybe 15 years and been on several expeditions with him, but this trip was the first time that we really climbed together - in the past he’s mostly shot photo or video. He helped film Free Solo, so we’ve spent a lot of time on El Cap together. And I’ve climbed some of his classic routes in Yosemite. But it was a real pleasure to work on some new first ascents together in Greenland. He established two of the crux pitches on the first route we put up. Both were tricky, poorly protected faces that he lead in the rain and snow. It was impressive to watch. But over the course of the trip he wound up putting just as much effort into the science projects that we were helping @heidisevestre with.
