Words are always hard to find after my favorite weekend of the season…I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully express my gratitude and the fulfillment I feel. Another incredible recital in the books for @rootsacademy that marks the end of yet another dance season. But this one felt different…lighter and deeper at the same time. I’m so thankful for the students that make the job so worth it. The growth, passion and resilience I see in you each year keeps me going every season. 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰. I’m thankful to the dance families that support and champion the journey. Thank you for believing in this place that has become such a part of who I am. Thank you to the mentors for sharing your creativity and passion with your students. It’s more than just dance. It’s life. You all inspire me. Thank you to the admin team that make this job not always feel like a job. The stress, the pre-pre-planning, the tears, the laughter, the encouragement….we somehow come out of each season stronger and better for it. I truly wouldn’t want to do this with any other humans. Thank you @kylechowning and @kristychowning for believing in me, teaching me and always creating space to thrive. And lastly, thank you to @stillman for being the best partner in life I could have ever asked for. I’m so lucky to have someone in my corner who just gets it—the long hours, the creative itch, when encouragement is needed, when honest feedback is needed, when boundaries are important. I am so thankful that we get to create art together in this life. I love you.
