Go see Emily The Criminal. It's anxiety fueled, has realistic action, and has an amazing performance from Aubrey Plaza that is a career best and unlike anything else she's done. Often when indie films are called "character driven", the character isn't really driving anywhere. Often a great performance, but lacking in story. Not saying that there isn't a place for those- because I love those sometimes- but not this one- Emily The Criminal is an indie, low budget film that knows how to keep you engaged and on the edge of your seat. And does it way better than most of the big budget films that attempt this. Awesome performance by Theo Rossi as well (who I wasn't familiar with before this). Megalyn Echikunwoke and Gina Gershon kill it too. It's streaming now.
