We miss dad extra today. Looking back on the last three years, there’s still a lot of amazing things that have happened in my life and my family’s life. I was reading what I shared a couple years ago (part of it below), and I can see how practicing those lessons daily has added up. He always said - “be persistent”. I’m grateful for what the last three years of being persistent has created and for my dad’s persistent encouragement to dream big ❤️

The most important thing to understand is that our lives are shaped by how we interact with reality. No matter who you are or what happens to you, it’s true for everyone. Once I learned that, I needed to figure out how to interact well.
One of the things I've done a lot of the last decade has been trying, failing, learning, and trying again. That process is a great teacher. So while I was grieving in this awful new reality with my family, I knew the most important thing was to find a way to struggle well - just like anything else I’ve gone through. Tragedy like this was new to me, but the same approach applied.
Unshakeable became my mantra. An unwavering commitment to creating the life I wanted, where no failure, pain, or hardship would ever completely knock me out of the game. No matter how bad it is, there’s always a path in the direction you want. Sometimes it requires extra grit, resourcefulness, and creativity to find it - but it’s there. And it’s ok to cry a lot, too.
Not all realities are the same or relatable. But what can be relatable and useful is the approach. In your own struggles and challenges, having an unshakeable mindset is a universal approach when life tries to throw you off course or hits you in the head with a brick. It gave me certainty that, despite the pain, I knew somehow I’d get there still. When the next challenging reality comes, I’ll have a way to deal with it. My sisters and mom are definitely unshakeable. We miss dad like crazy, and I know he’s proud of us.
