Have you ever seen the Green Man? His mysterious face is known to appear amongst the leaves especially in fall and spring, a supernatural (or subconscious) archetype of The Wild and our relationship to it. 🌿 🌿 The Green Man is typically associated with the renewed cycle of growth that comes throughout the year. He represents both new growth and decay, as he can be seen as either emerging from or being reclaimed by nature. He reminds us of our part in the natural world; that we are part of nature’s cycles, not distant from them. 🌿 I baked this flaky pastry pie in the spring and stuffed it full of tasty spring veggies like nettles and wild asparagus... but it would be equally delightful in fall with seasonal splendors like roasted squash, green beans, or wild mushrooms!
