At this moment, I realized how it good it felt to have encouragement BEFORE the leap. Sometimes in life, the encouragement comes after the accomplishment... “I love how you did XYZ!” But what’s often times left out, is the fear and anxiety it took in making those decisions before the hopeful accomplishment. The haunting thoughts of “am I making the right decision, will this set up the company, myself and my team for success?!” are inevitable. But with that, sometimes you have to have bravado and confidence even if you’re terrified inside. In Slide 2, this was a small portion of five minutes worth of encouragement... at one point, I actually heard myself say something out loud, that I never say “I can’t do it” — I was ready to give up! But the instructors and @rich_envisions kept urging me. I think I’m addicted to pre-accomplishment encouragement now 😌 (As a side note, I try to over compensate with the “good jobs” and “you can do it” especially for the high performers on my team, when people know that you’re good they can take your contributions for granted, so I never want to be lazy and say “they know they got it, they don’t need much feedback.” Nah, we all need it at all levels.) Audio on for jokes in Slide 1 😂. Then I went to a UFC event and a selfie to let y’all know I still got it.
