The day started with a deep dive into the genetics of apples at the Interpoma Congress, where global experts shared insights on GMOs and their true role in agriculture—focusing on disease resistance. It’s incredible to see how these innovations can reduce input costs for farmers and lead to less spraying. 🌱🍏 The complexity of global laws on genetics blew me away—each country has its own approach, making this a fascinating (and challenging) area to navigate. After flexing my brain, I visited Laimburg Research Centre, South Tyrol’s leader in agricultural innovation.
