If my beautiful and one-of-a-kind Mom were still here she would have called me by now to point out all the wonderful and poignant things folks were saying today about their mamas and then pause and casually ask why I hadn’t posted anything about my own mother yet ;). My mom left us just before Mother’s Day five years ago — a few weeks ago, in honor of that anniversary, we scattered her ashes just off the shore of Hawaii. It was a perfect though emotional day. For all of social media’s many flaws, people using this medium to honor those who raised or helped raise them is a pretty wonderful thing. When it comes to people you love, you can’t express your gratitude enough. ❤️
