Vive primas and amiguis, this year has felt like the year we’ve mostly disconnected from our IG and online community, with several days of an inactive feed. Running this business and this instagram (and all) accounts for years has weighed on me/us more than I would like to admit. But this year we have been doing a lot inner work. A big theme for Joanna and I this year has really been focusing on how we can work on ourselves and in turn - help move this brand forward. Your mindset and mental health go hand in hand with the success of your business or anything you do. While so many people and social media culture have glamorized that chingona hustle mood and jefas vibes, what it doesn’t warn you about the work you have to do to get out of your head and realize what is holding you back is you. It doesn’t warn you about how often you’ll feel extremely insecure but are forced to make important decision anyways. It sometimes means crying in the shower because the launch didn’t do as planned, having tough conversations when laying off staff, being angry that you didn’t get that opportunity you believed were perfect for - all these parts are very real and often not considered when we only see beautiful campaigns, recent wins or flashy media features. But we’re all going through it one way or another, so take your minds health as priority. If that means leaving social media for days, weeks, even months. Talking to friend, going for a hike or finally scheduling your first appointment to see a therapist.
