@kateklipatskaya is a Ukrainian artist and a wonderful human being. We exchanged thoughtful words through google translate as we walked around LA shooting these photos at golden hour. It was a heartbreaking privilege to happen upon meeting and hearing her story about having recently fled Ukraine to the states, unsure of when or if her and her husband and baby will be able to return. I can’t imagine the mental and emotional toll of that kind of hardship but I was also so inspired by her story and immense bravery. It was a beautiful reminder to me to slow down, be present and name all that you can be grateful for. That there’s always a way, always blessing amongst hardship, even if you can’t yet see it. @revolve
