Over the course of the film, it’s two protagonists express in their own words just what it is like to be your true self on eight wheels; from the thrill of movement to the warmth and inclusiveness of the skating community and the unique states of body and mind encountered by all roller-skaters. Shot in black and white, “Roller States” is both the director’s passion project and a film about two individuals’ source of real passion.
