Sharing some information about travelling with your pet. Please keep in mind this was based on my experience and the information I was provided. Please do speak to an airline representative/customer care before making your travel plans! 1. Air India allows you to fly with your pets 2. You can take them in the cabin with you if they weigh 5kgs or less in their case/bag 3. You need to book your tickets and go to go airport 2-2.5 hours before your flight to check in 4. You don’t need a ticket for your pet, they will charge you depending on the weight of the dog. We paid ₹3800/- for Stormi to fly with us. 5. You can medicate your pet after consulting the vet but we chose not the give Storm any meds and he was completely fine throughout the journey (also super sleepy since we took a late night flight) 6. Choose a late night flight so the the flight and airport are quieter and lesser people 7. You need to have his vaccination certificate and a fit-to-fly note from the vet 8. Carry some treats in your pockets to immediately distract him from any distressing stimuli 9. Carry his water bowl, pee pad, some toys (not squeaky ones) and a blanket (aircrafts can get cold for them) 10. Overall, it was a very convenient and easy procedure thanks to @airindia.in . The staff (on ground as well as airline) where extremely helpful and patient and made it a very comfortable journey for us and Stormi 🧸💗 PS: no, the dog doesn’t go through the X-ray, only his bag does!
