El Chapultepec has a new owner. The world-famous jazz venue opened the day Prohibition ended in 1933 and has been shuttered since December 2020. Now, Monfort Companies, a Colorado real estate investment and development firm, has bought the iconic building at 1962 Market Street as well as the Giggling Grizzly next door at 1320 20th Street, and will combine them into a joint venue.
