(11 days left on this Kickstarter!!!) You may have heard discussions about a certain social media platform shifting its focus toward the virtual world -- which some call the Metaverse. Prior to that announcement, a group of black artists banded together to imagine a virtual XR theme park infused with cosmic creativity and Black joy — an immediate (and ongoing) response to the question 'Will there be joyful black spaces in the Metaverse?' Hereborn Park is a virtual XR theme park for Black joy. Built as a collective expression of Black dreamers, our park is a dedicated space for jubilation and wholeness through the lens of an online cosmic theme park. Kasama is the park’s first icon, a Cosmic guide who grants wayward souls facing existential crises a skating experience to transcend painful memories and struggles and delivers them into the abyss of joy which exists beyond time and space. Kasama is a Hereborn guest’s guide to Black cosmic culture, Afrofuturism, and imagining a liberated future. Her mission is to prioritize the voices, experiences, and histories of those often left to the margins. As we prepare for the opening of Hereborn Park’s first ride, we’re offering merch and art to catalyze your imagination and put a piece of our park in your hands. Our goal is to explore and expand this park through 2022, with physical pop ups, new rides, and celebrations of Black culture --and we're looking for supporters to help make this space a virtual and IRL reality!
