There is something else that needs to be new: new banknotes! 💵 When Siu Pin was young, my mom used to tell me that it was challenging to use old banknotes for lai-see, because they were old and dirty with folds, making it very hard to put in the lai-see packet. “Good-as-new notes” (notes that have already been circulated but are still in very good condition) are just as good too! 🧧Siu Pin only cares about the denomination of notes, old or new, it doesn’t matter!
