A story was shared today that truly broke me. There was a mentally disabled young man in his 30’s in Izyum. Intellectually he was about 7 years old. Often times kids would gather on the streets and wave to the military as they passed by. (Just like you see in the photos above. It always would make me smile so hard seeing them gather and wave. We would bring candies (kinder surprise) specifically for them) Well this disabled man loved Ukraine and loved the troops. Every time he’d see Ukrainian soldiers he would always yell “слава Украине” (glory to Ukraine) and “героям слава” (glory to our heros). When russian soldiers occupied Izyum, he didn’t stop saying these phrases. For days, every time russian troops would pass by, he would do the same... wave and tell them “слава Украине” (glory to Ukraine) and “героям слава” (glory to our heros). He went missing. For a few days his family and friends looked for him. He was eventually found dead. Beaten, tortured and with his pants below his knees. I can only imagine what they did to this poor man. Just feels like with every “good” story here, there are 20 really terrible ones. Hard to comprehend that humans could be this evil. But then again, I don’t know if I can even call these monsters human. This is demonic.
