This week, we invite you to take a virtual tour of “A lion for every house” currently on display at the Art Institute of Chicago’s photo galleries. Gallery 1 is home to 10 photo-sculptures and an original poem by avery r. young. For the photographs found in Gallery 1, Floating Museum invited ten community organizers and cultural “hosts” in Chicago —and commissioned ten local photographers to help create new works featuring photographs from the Art Institute’s collection in the hosts’ “homes”. Floating Museum then created unique domestic lighting sculptures to illuminate each photograph.
