Been a minute since I hit the main feed so here goes nothing... As some of you may know, I made my return to the surf industry back in December as I took a producer role with @stab, surf media powerhouse & band of core lords I have long admired and aspired to eventually end up with. The process wasn't easy, leaving some of my best friends at @deserthearts (especially after trudging through the dark days of the pandemic to keep the company alive and thriving), but I knew Stab was where I needed to go for growth. Fast forward a few months & a few projects and I'm given the task of producing Stab Highway California: 8 days. 10 videographers. 16 surfers. 120 challenges. 600 miles. This would be the first project that I'd own & operate for Stab from pre-production through distribution, with my guy @unholypotato by my side. Challenging, of course. Thrilling, definitely. Ridiculous, god damn. However, never did I intend to be in front of the camera. But as fate would have it, our host would drop out a week prior and voilà I was thrown to the wolves, for better or worse. The introverted extrovert in me was conflicted but ultimately I said "fuk it, let's ride." What better way to grow than to turn and face the strange? The first episode premieres on Thursday, June 23. I'm equal parts anxious and excited for you to see what we captured on the road from San Francisco to San Diego. Tbh it's been a task to cut the days and days of enthralling content down to a five episode series. Shout out to @mattyjbakes, @willstiles, and @blakemichel_ for the hard yards they've been putting in on the editing front. Anyways, this is our first teaser for the project and I can say with certainty that you're about to be thoroughly entertained when this thing drops, whether you're a surf fan or not.
