In worms we trust.
YES Compost owner Karl Johnson pressure washes compost receptacles before returning them to his home and business subscribers. Johnson’s business diverts food waste from the landfill where it would create methane, a greenhouse gas over 50 times more harmful than carbon. The scraps become food for worms and result in mounds and mounds of nutrient-rich compost.
Johnson also captures wastewater from the cleaning process and uses it to add moisture to the compost piles. Bozeman, Montana.
